Roy is an Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) accredited Social Worker delivering Focused Psychological Strategies. He currently provides services for free through his dual roles as a clinician in the Strong Minds Western Program and at his local Headspace. Roy has a keen interest in Community Mental Health, Social Justice, Workers Rights and the natural environment; having spent the better part of a decade as an activist before re-training as a clinician.

He holds a Bachelor of Social Science from Macquarie University, a Graduate Certificate (ongoing toward diploma) from Edith Cowan University in Psychology; and a Qualifying Masters in Social Work from Western Sydney University (Dean’s List).

As a therapist with lived experience of Generalised Anxiety and Panic, He is particularly well suited to the treatment of anxiety, traumatic stress and depression. By focusing on Psycho Education, Neurobiology, Skills Training and the processing and reintegration of trauma. He seeks to teach clients the skills to understand and help themselves to live better, fuller lives. Roy focuses on the relationship between client and therapist, by not taking himself too seriously and seeking to form a genuine connection.

Roy has additional professional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; which form the basis of his practice. He also integrates Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems, Existential Psychotherapy and more into his work with clients.

On the weekend you can find Roy moonlighting as an unsuccessful musician, avid outdoors man and Master-chef wannabe. Or just being a wife-guy at home with his partner and two cats.
